It was recently announced, on the 30th of November 2020, that Emirates had made the difficult decision to embargo all snub-nosed breeds of Dogs and Cats for transport as manifest cargo.
With effect from the 1st of December, Emirates will no longer be accepting snub-nosed breed pets and this embargo will be in place throughout their entire network across ALL seasons (Winter/Summer).
All of the following below breeds are now prohibited:
Dogs:
- Affenpinscher
- American Cocker Spaniel
- Boston Terrier
- Boxer
- Brussels Griffon
- Bulldogs (all types)
- Bullmastiff
- Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
- Chihuahua (apple headed)
- Chow Chow
- Dogo Argentino
- Dogue de Bordeaux
- Japanese Chin
- King Charles Spaniel
- Lhasa Apso
- Lowchen
- Neapolitan Mastiff
- Newfoundland
- Pekingese
- Pitbull Terrier
- Pug
- Shar-Pei
- Staffordshire Bull Terrier
- Tibetan Spaniel
Cats
- British Shorthair
- Burmese
- Exotic Shorthair
- Exotic Fold
- Himalayan
- Persian
- Scottish Fold
- Selkirk Rex
What does this mean for your snub nose fur-babies?
It means that sending them overseas has become a little bit trickier but by no means impossible!! AeroPets is dedicated to finding a solution for you and your pets. We will hunt around for alternative airline options and will do our very best to ensure that your precious snub-nosed babies get where they need to go, safe and sound. We are sad to see Emirates place this embargo as they have always been an amazing option for all snubbies during their Winter months but AeroPets will roll with the changes and assist in any way that we can with every possible resource available to us.
